Zach Manns wins WLA Most Valuable Player

by Dan Marshall

The accolades for Timbermen leading scorer Zach Manns continue to roll in.

After being recognized as a First Team All-Star, the WLA's leading scorer and also winning the 3 Star Award, Manns can now add co-winner of the WLA Most Valuable Player to his list of 2023 accomplishments.

Manns shares the MVP Award with Haiden Dickson of the New Westminster Salmonbellies.

His 89 points helped lead the Timbermen to their 12-6 record and another playoff appearance.

Manns is only the second member of the Timbermen to earn WLA MVP since Nanaimo's return to Senior A in 2005.

Scott Ranger was the only other player to win with his 95 point season in 2011.

Manns 89 points was the third most ever by a Timbermen player behind Ranger's top totals of 95 and 92.

Manns scored in all 18 Nanaimo games with a season high nine points against the Burnaby Lakers on June 25.

Congratulations Zach on a truly historic season!
