Wiedemann named WLA Defensive Player of the Year

by Dan Marshall

For the second straight season Adam Wiedemann has been named the WLA Defensive Player of the Year.

In 2022 he shared the award with Drew Belgrave of the Salmonbellies but Wiedemann won outright in 2023.

Aside from being a dominant force on the defensive end of the floor, Adam also posted seven goals and 17 assists in 15 games.

Wiedemann has not only been a stalwart defender in his time in Nanaimo he's also been a tremendous asset as a leader.

His leadership has been evident on the floor as well as giving back as one of the co-coaches of the Tier 1 Junior B Timbermen.

Wiedemann's strong play has helped the Tmen to become one of the best overall defences in the WLA.

In just two seasons Adam has become one of the true faces of the franchise.

Congratulations Adam Wiedemann!
