The Nanaimo Timbermen have acquired Jeff Shattler from the Maple Ridge Burrards in exchange for Gord Phillips.

Shattler is a household name in box lacrosse and has won championships at every level.

The 37-year-old was a mainstay for the Victoria Shamrocks in the 2010's and spent part of the 2018 Senior B season with the Nanaimo Timbermen on their run to the President's Cup final.

Most recently the left hander finished the 2021-22 NLL campaign with the Saskatchewan Rush of the NLL.

Shattler had 38 points in 14 games.

Gord Phillips was drafted 11th overall by the Senior A Timbermen in 2018.  The versatile defender was used in all situations at both ends of the floor in his time in Nanaimo.

The Timbermen wish Gord all the best with the Burrards.

Nanaimo Timbermen president Chris Bowman said the trade adds a veteran presence and scoring depth to the Senior A roster.

"I'd like to thank Gord Phillips for his contribution to our team.  He's a committed athlete who did everything our coaches asked of him, and he was part of a young core who helped our organization become a playoff contender.  In Jeff Shattler we get a proven scorer who will compliment our already strong talent up front.  Jeff knows Nanaimo and has been one of the premier lefties in the game for a long time."
