The Timbermen had a pair of strong outings this past week but had to settle for a 1-1 record.
Thursday in New West the Salmonbellies won 8-7 in a very tight game.
Jon Phillips had a goal and two assists, while Chase Fraser chipped in two goals.
Charles Claxton stopped 44 shots in the game.
Then on Saturday at Nanaimo's home opener the Tmen won 12-9 over the island rivals the Victoria Shamrocks.
Chase Fraser led the offense with four goals and Drew Belgrave scored twice.
Claxton was strong in net with a 35 save performance.
Nanaimo is 2-2 with a pair of road games against the Burnaby Lakers and the Shamrocks coming up on June 8 and June 10.
