Tmen sweep Thunder and Bellies

The weekend began with Nanaimo, Burnaby, and Langley in a three way tie for  the final playoff spot in the WLA - it ended with the Timbermen in a four point  lead for fourth place.

Nanaimo beat Langley 12-10 on Saturday with Jon Phillips leading the  offense with two goals and four assists.

Colton Clark had two goals and three assists, while Chase Fraser had a hat  trick in the victory.

Mike DeGirolamo and Charles Claxton combined for 42 saves in the win.

On Sunday the Tmen beat the best team in the WLA with an 11-9 decision over  the Salmonbellies.

Fraser had another hat trick and an assist, and Nanaimo got contributions  up and down the lineup in their fifth home floor win in six games.  

Charles Claxton outduelled Alex Buque to win the goaltending match up with  43 stops.

Nanaimo has five game left in the regular season, including a massive home  date with the Burnaby Lakers on Saturday July 14.

The Timbermen also play at Maple Ridge, home against Coquitlam, on the road  in New Westminster, and they conclude the season with another game at Frank  Crane Arena against the Lakers.
