Tmen split with Maple Ridge and Langley

by Dan Marshall

Two strong games for the Timbermen over the weekend only led to one  positive result.

Frank Scigliano shut down Nanaimo's offense on Saturday in a 6-3 Maple  Ridge win.

Charles Claxton was strong in net for the Tmen as well, but Scigliano was  perfect until the third period for the Burrards.

Evan Messenger scored two of the three Timbermen goals on the night.

Then on Sunday Nanaimo jumped out to a 8-0 lead and beat the Langley  Thunder 16-13.

Jon Phillips, Baden Boyenko, and Brody Eastwood each had hat tricks in the  win and Phillips had an eight point night.

Mike DeGirolamo made 47 saves for the win.

On Wednesday the same two teams will battle in Langley.

The next home game for the Timbermen is Sunday June 24 against  Coquitlam.
