Tmen split first two games on the road

Opening weekend featured a pair of road games for the Timbermen.

The first game of the season was an 11-9 win in Coquitlam with Chase Fraser leading the way.

The second year Timbermen scorer had four goals and three assists in the victory.

Captain Brody Eastwood chipped in with two goals and two assists and goalie Charles Claxton made 38 saves.

Fraser was also a bright spot on Sunday with two goals in an 8-3 loss to Maple Ridge.

Colton Clark had the only other a goal, when the Tmen just couldn't Frank Scigliano despite getting 48 shots.

Nanaimo will be busy with a pair of games this week as well.

On Thursday the Timbermen will visit the New Westminster and then the home opener is Saturday at 7pm against the Victoria Shamrocks.

There will be lots of entertainment at Frank Crane Arena and the game will also be broadcast on Shaw TV.
