Tmen look to even series in Game 4

by Dan Marshall

The Timbermen were unable to build on an impressive Game 1 of their first  round playoff series with the Victoria Shamrocks on Friday.

The Shamrocks won 8-4 in Game 2, a game where the Tmen couldn't get their  offense on track.

Jon Phillips, Colton Clark, Dane Sorensen, and Drew Belgrave had the goals  and Charles Claxton made 40 saves.

Game 3 of the all Island series went Sunday at the Q Centre.

The game was back and forth much of the night but the Shamrocks scored four  of the five goals to open the second period and Nanaimo couldn't come all the  way back.

The scoreline finished 11-8 for Victoria who now hold a 2-1 series  lead.

Mason Pynn chipped in two goals and Cam Wengreniuk led all Nanaimo scorers  with a goal and three assists.

Charles Claxton and Mike DeGirolamo split the goaltending duties.

Game 4 goes Tuesday at 7:30pm at Frank Crane Arena.
