The Thunder built up a 6-1 first period lead and cruised to the victory.

Frank Scigliano was strong in net allowing only six goals despite Nanaimo outshooting Langley 57-47.

Connor Robinson also had a huge night with a six goal performance.

Zach Manns led the Timbermen offense with two goals and two assists and was named the game's third star.

Jon Phillips with two goals, Colton Lidstone and Nathan Grenon rounded out the Tmen scoring.

A crucial game two goes on Thursday August 3 at 7pm at Frank Crane Arena.
