Tmen fall 10-9 to Thunder, prepare for rematch

The Nanaimo Timbermen sit at 2-3 on the season after falling 10-9 on home floor to the Langley Thunder.

It was a tight contest throughout with key performances offensively from Zach Manns with six points, Jon Phillips with five and Taggart Clark with four. 

Ethan Woods gave the Tmen solid goaltending with a 33 save performance.

Nanaimo led the game 9-8 in the third period after a beautiful solo effort from Colton Lidstone but the Thunder tied the game five minutes to play and Curtis Dickson scored a late game winner while short handed with 16 seconds to play.

The two teams will play again at the Langley Events Centre on Wednesday June 15 at 7pm.

It kicks off a busy week for the Timbermen who also have home contests versus Burnaby on June 18 and New West on June 19.
