Tmen add Rahe, swap picks at deadline

by Dan Marshall

The Timbermen have made a pair of deals on the eve of the 2019 trade deadline.

Nanaimo has added right hander James Rahe from the Langley Thunder for the remainder of the 2019 season and playoffs in exchange for a second and a third round draft pick in the 2021 WLA draft.

The other deal sees the Tmen get two 2021 first round picks from the Burnaby Lakers in exchange for Nanaimo's first round pick in 2020 and a 2020 third round pick.

In Rahe the Timbermen get a powerful scoring threat.

The 6'4 and 225 lbs veteran has been with the Thunder since 2016, scoring 123 points in 46 games.

So far this season Rahe has contributed 14 points in 4 games.

The 25-year-old has also spent the last three seasons in the NLL with the Vancouver Warriors.

In the 2019 campaign Rahe tallied 16 points in 15 games.

The addition of Rahe gives the Tmen a huge boost to their right side offense for the second half of the WLA season and the push towards the 2019 Mann Cup.

After the transaction with the Lakers, Nanaimo owns nearly half of the first round of the 2021 draft with three of the first seven selections.
