Timbermen start July with a tie and a loss
The Nanaimo Timbermen opened up July with a 9-9 in Burnaby.
Trailing 9-7 late in the game the Tmen had goals from Colton Lidstone with six minutes to play and a tying goal by Jon Phillips with 36 seconds left.
Jason Knox led the scoring with two goals and four assists while Taggart Clark collected a goal and four helpers.
Colby Bowman stopped 46 shots to help earn the point.
Nanaimo was at home to Langley on Sunday July 7 and suffered a 12-8 setback.
The game was tied 5-5 in the second period but a five goal run by the Thunder broke the game open.
Taggart Clark was Nanaimo's top scorer with two goals and an assist while Teioshontateh McComber had a goal in his season debut.
Devlin Shanahan made 28 saves between the pipes.
The Tmen have a massive road against the undefeated Shamrocks on Wednesday July 10 with another home contest on July 13 versus the New Westminster Salmonbellies.
