Timbermen season comes to a close in Game 4

The Timbermen fell 9-6 to the Langley Thunder in Game 4 of their best of five first round playoff series.

Nanaimo trailed 2-1 after the first, the game was tied 5-5 heading into the third period and the Thunder pulled out a time victory which included an empty net goal to seal the game.

Jon Phillips led the attack with a pair of goals and Devlin Shanahan gave Nanaimo stalwart netminding with 48 saves.

The games finished 14-6 Langley in Game 1, 17-0 for the Thunder in Game 2, 8-7 in OT for Nanaimo in Game 3 and 9-6 for Langley in the series clinching game.

2023 featured an MVP performance from Zach Manns, along with personal accolades for Adam Wiedemann as Top Defender and a Coach of the Year awards shared by Brian Nikula and Jon Nicholson.

The Tmen finished 12-6 for the second straight year but failed to reach their goal of hosting the Mann Cup.
