Timbermen in the playoffs!

Nanaimo needed a win or a tie Friday in Burnaby to advance to the WLA playoffs.

The two teams both went into the season finale with.a 10-7 record but the Tmen had won the previous two games in the head to head series.

The game itself featured several lead changes with period scores of 3-2 for Burnaby, 4-4, and 8-8.

The Tmen were up 8-6 late in the third before the Lakers made a rally to force overtime.

There was no scoring in three on three OT which propelled Nanaimo into the post season.

Jon Phillips led the attack with two goals and two assists and Charles Claxton made 52 saves.

The post season begins July 30 with the Timbermen taking on the Victoria Shamrocks for the second consecutive year.
