Timbermen get a boost on offence

by Dan Marshall

The Nanaimo Timbermen are pleased to announce three additions on offense ahead of the 2024 season.

Jason Knox is a left hander who was selected 5th overall by Panther City in the 2022 NLL Draft.

This season he had 23 goals and 27 assists for Panther City.

Previous to that Knox spent two years playing field lacrosse at Ohio State University and the 23-year-old played his Junior A ball for the Burlington Chiefs in Ontario.

Lukas Olsson is a righty from Alberta who is currently playing Division 1 lacrosse for the University of Richmond.

Lukas finished second in RMJLL scoring last summer with 20 goals and 25 assists in the regular season and added another 39 points in the playoffs.

Jake Harrington is a left handed forward selected by the Albany Firewolves in the 2021 NLL Draft from the University of Vermont.

He's big, athletic, can move bodies, and can score on the inside or with his excellent outside shot.

Timbermen President Chris Bowman said the three newcomers will add another layer to an already potent offense.

"With these additions it makes us a more difficult team to defend.  Jason, Lukas and Jake give us some extra weapons up front and will compliment our strong core of returning players."

The Timbermen open the regular season on May 25 in Coquitlam.

Nanaimo's home opener is Saturday June 1 at Frank Crane Arena versus the Maple Ridge Burrards.
