Kris Veltman is the latest player to join the Nanaimo Senior A Timbermen.

The defender from Stouffville Ontario was drafted in the fourth round by the New York Riptide of the NLL in 2020.

Veltman got into six games with Brampton in the Ontario Junior Lacrosse League in 2021 with three points.

The now 23-year-old was Junior B East’s Most Valuable Defensive Player in 2019.

In 55 career games with the West Durham Ironheads he had 39 points with 16 goals and 23 assists.

Timbermen President Chris Bowman said he expects Veltman to make a big impact this summer.

"Kris is playing his first season with the New York Riptide in the NLL.  He is a big strong two-way defender that see’s the floor incredibly well.  Adding Kris to our strong defense will make it very hard for the oppositions offence players to find the net. He has the speed and lacrosse IQ to excel in transition in the WLA."

Veltman has excellent lacrosse bloodlines as well, he's the son of Hall of Famer Jim Veltman.
