The Nanaimo Senior A Timbermen are pleased to announce the addition of Junior Tmen alumni Dane Sorensen.

The 22-year-old has been acquired from the New Westminster Salmonbellies in exchange for the 10th overall pick in the 2017 draft.

Sorensen scored 20 goals and 13 assists in his 2016 WLA rookie campaign in 18 games.

He added six points in five playoff appearances.

The Victoria native was drafted 13th overall by the Salmonbellies in 2016.

His Junior career included stops in Victoria, New Westminster and Nanaimo, and Dane finished with 121 points in 56 games.

In two seasons with the Junior A Timbermen in 2014 and 2015 Sorensen had 85 points in 30 games.

The right hander was also selected in the 2015 National Lacrosse League Draft.

Sorensen was picked 45th overall by the Colorado Mammoth.

Dane earned a scholarship to Florida Southern University where he earned All American honours playing attack for the Moccasins.

He still holds the school's scoring record with 175 career goals.

The addition of Sorensen to the offense will bolster Nanaimo's right side for the 2017 season.
