The Western Lacrosse Association has announced that Nanaimo Timbermen forward Jon Philips has been named the WLA Player of the Week for the week ending July 15, 2019.

In three games this past week for Nanaimo, Philips had five goals and eight assists with the T-Men going 2-1 in those games. Philips is currently the leading scorer for Nanaimo with twenty-one goals and thirty-three assists for a total of fifty-four points. Those fifty-four points are also good for fifth in the WLA points lead as the thirty-three assists are fourth-best in the WLA. Philips currently has no penalty minutes in 15 games this season, which ties him with Andrew Garant for the best mark league-wide.

Catch Philips and the T-Men this Saturday when they take on the Langley Thunder at Frank Crane Arena. Get your tickets at the door, but you can stream this and every game in the run to the postseason live with WLA TV
