Overtime heartbreak in 10-9 loss to Coquitlam
The Nanaimo Timbermen never led, but erased several deficits to force overtime in a 10-9 home loss to the Adanacs.
It was 4-0 for Coquitlam after the first period but the Tmen came alive in the second.
A middle period rally brought the game to 7-5 heading to the third period.
The Adanacs jumped into a 9-6 lead but late goals by Colton Lidstone, Taggart Clark on the power play and Zach Manns forced three on three OT.
Nanaimo had several glorious chances to end the game but Riley Isaacs completed his hat trick two minutes into the extra period to give the A's the win.
The Timbermen outshot Coquitlam 54-41 and Zach Manns recorded three goals and three assists but Nanaimo lost their third straight game to their lower mainland rivals.
The Tmen sit at 1-4 to start the season and have back to back games coming up against the Salmonbellies June 20 in New West and June 23 at Frank Crane Arena.
