Gilles and Fraser return to the lineup

by Dan Marshall

The Timbermen would like to welcome back two key veterans to the line up.

Jordan Gilles and Chase Fraser are set to return for Thursday's game in New Westminster.

Gilles is now fully recovered from minor surgery after the conclusion of his NLL season in Colorado.

The 24-year-old was originally draft by Nanaimo in 2016 and is coming off a 2018 WLA campaign that earned him Second Team All-Star honours.

He had 14 points in 14 games with the Timbermen last year.

Fraser is entering his third year with Nanaimo and has led the Tmen in goals in both 2017 and 2018.

Last season the right hander was named a Second Team WLA All-Star and went on to have a marvellous ride in the NLL with the Buffalo Bandits.

He finished tied for third in Bandits goal scoring with 29.

Fraser earned 44 points in the regular season, and stepped up in the NLL finals scoring a hat trick in the last game, a hard fought overtime loss to the Calgary Roughnecks.

Both Gilles and Fraser add star power to a Nanaimo team that's already off to a strong 3-1 start to the season.

The next Timbermen home game is Saturday June 22 at Frank Crane Arena against the Maple Ridge Burrards.
