Fraser and Toth Honoured by WLA

by Dan Marshall

The honours keep pouring in for first year Timbermen Chase Fraser.

A day after being named a 2017 WLA Second Team All-Star, the 22 year-old  has been selected Rookie of the Year.

The Ed Bayley Memorial Trophy winner was the co-leader in Tmen scoring with  52 points, coincidentally he was tied with 2016 league Rookie of the Year Ryan  Lee.

Perhaps his most impressive stat was putting up a 30 goal season - which  tied Fraser for the third most goals in the WLA.

Behind the bench Kaleb Toth is the Dorothy Robertson Award winner for Coach  of the Year.

Toth guided the Timbermen to a 7-10-1 record which saw the team nearly  double it's win total from a year ago.

In 2013 Toth ended his playing career to take over reigns as Nanaimo's  Coach.

His playing career included two Mann Cups, a Minto Cup, and three NLL  Championships.
