Bittersweet week with two wins, but no playoffs

by Dan Marshall

A successful week on the floor for the Nanaimo Timbermen was tempered by the news they won't be making the playoffs in 2017.

Nanaimo had wins over Langley and Coquitlam, but a Burnaby Lakers win means the Tmen will finish no hire than fifth in the standings.

On Wednesday the Timbermen beat the Thunder 14-12 in overtime in Langley.

Both Colton Clark and Ryan Lee had seven points in the victory.

Saturday it was Clark and Lee again, this time Lee connected for eight points and Clark had seven when Nanaimo won 15-14 in Coquitlam.

In goal Mike DeGirolamo got the win in Langley, and Pete Dubenski was victorious in Coquitlam.

The season ends for the Timbermen this weekend with a pair of games at home.

Saturday Burnaby visits with Coquitlam in town on Sunday.
