Burnaby, BC – The Western Lacrosse Association (WLA) is excited to be hosting the 2019 Graduating Junior Player Draft next Thursday, February 7th, starting at 7 pm. Fans can tune in to the live webcast for free at wlalacrosse.com starting at 6:45 pm, with pre-draft analysis and interviews from host Jake Elliot.

As one of the best-known voices in Canadian lacrosse, Elliot will bring his decades of experience, knowledge of the game, and analysis of the players to webcast viewers throughout the eight rounds of the draft.

The first overall pick is widely expected to be goaltending phenom Christian Del Bianco, who was drafted by the NLL’s Calgary Roughnecks in 2015, becoming their starting goaltender in 2018 at the age of 21, and being a key part of the Coquitlam Jr. Adanacs’ five consecutive Minto Cup appearances, two of which resulted in rings for the young Adanacs.

WLA teams may draft any player who is graduating Junior age and has signed and played at least one game for a British Columbia Lacrosse Association (BCLA) registered team within the last three years.

The draft order is set in reverse order of last year’s regular season standings, and then any draft pick trades made in this or prior years are applied. Visit WLALacrosse.ca for the complete draft order.

Draft results will be available live on both wlalacrosse.com and official WLA social media channels.
