2016 WLA Rookie of the Year one of three Timbermen signings this week

The Nanaimo Timbermen are pleased to announce a trio of players from Ontario have been signed for the 2017 season.

One is a familiar name to local lacrosse fans with Ryan Lee returning to Nanaimo for a second year.

In 2016 Lee led the Tmen in scoring with 50 points and was named the WLA Rookie of the Year.

Lee finished the Div. 3 field lacrosse season at RIT with 86 points in 18 games and was the team's leading scorer.

RIT is still in playoffs as of this week.

Jerrett Smith is a right handed transition player who played Junior A with the Toronto Beaches last year.

The Winnipeg native had seven points in 19 games in 2016.

He was also a late cut of the New England Black Wolves of the NLL.

Lefty Dan Michel spent five years with the Peterborough Jr A Lakers including the last three as team captain.

In 98 games played he had 106 goals and 220 points

He was drafted by New England in 4th round of the NLL 38th overall, and is currently in his fourth year playing field lacrosse at Trent University.

In the coming days the Timbermen will have more 2017 player commitments to announce.
