T-Men Ready For Big Week
Well rested and re-focussed, the Nanaimo Timbermen Senior A Lacrosse Club are set to get things back on track with two extremely important games this week. After coming off a one win, one loss split on their two game road trip, the T-Men are ready for a big week.
Thursday night, the T-Men travel to Queens Park Arena to take on the 2009 Western Lacrosse Association champion New Westminster Salmonbellies in what should prove to be fast and physical game. The Salmonbellies sit in second spot in the WLA standings but with only a four point edge the T-Men feel they are definitely within reach. This game can be viewed through a Pay-Per-View feed at www.theboxrocks.com
Saturday will mark the first home game since June 6th when the home crowd witnessed a 4-3 win over the Maple Ridge Burrards that many insiders considered the best display of defence this season by both teams. This time it is the Langley Thunder who will come to town attempting to avenge the 14-12 loss the T-Men handed them in the opening game of the WLA season at the Langley Events Centre back in May. Langley is tied for fifth with Nanaimo, but has one game in hand so this tilt could prove to be a tie-breaker if it comes to that later in the season.
T-Men Notes:
Kaleb Toth, who had knee surgery following the National Lacrosse League season, will be in Nanaimo this weekend. Toth is in town to get re-acquainted with his team mates, update the team’s medical staff on the progress of his knee rehabilitation and to look at real estate. Toth is scheduled to be back in the line-up in mid July.
