April 29, 2009
The Nanaimo Senior A Timbermen have never entered a season with more optimism for both on and off court success. Changes are in abundance as the team proudly announces its new management. Former silent partner, Hadi Abassi, has taken over the role of President, bringing with him two national championships with the VI Raiders Football Club, to which he still owns and operates. His experiences leading the Raiders to victory, along with his successful business background are key components to making this year the most memorable season in Nanaimo Timbermen history.
For the first time in several years the Timbermen entered the season acquiring top notch players with their draft picks. "This year there is a strong commitment and dedication to winning, a level to which the team and fans have never seen before," says Cole Renner, VP of Business Operations. "What we have now is a strong drive towards the Mann Cup."
With the new management leading the way and fresh talent within the organization, this year is sure to see more fans in the stands and more numbers in the win column.
